Dr. Soraya Fallah’s Analysis Through International Relations and Law: An Interview on “Iran, Russia, and China: Between Strategic Partnership and Alliance” — Rojhelat Media

In my recent interview with Rojhelat TV, we discussed one of the most consequential geopolitical questions of our time: the evolving relationship between Iran, Russia, and China.

From the perspective of International Relations, and drawing on the realist theory of the balance of power, I explained that this relationship is better understood as a strategic partnership rather than a formal strategic alliance. I emphasized that Moscow and Beijing support Iran where it aligns with their national interests and broader objective of balancing U.S. influence, while they have not assumed a mutual defense obligation toward Iran. Both countries pursue pragmatic, interest-based policies aimed at expanding their geopolitical influence while avoiding direct military commitments in the Middle East.

  Speaking at the CiRH Academy Speaker Series Today, I participated as a featured speaker in the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Health (CiRH) Academy’s Speaker Series , a platform dedicated to increasing awareness and building capacity among professionals serving immigrant and refugee communities. My session, "Supporting Refugee and Immigrant Students with Special Needs in Educational Settings," focused on equipping educators and service providers with essential tools and knowledge to more effectively identify, evaluate, and support refugee students—particularly in the areas of special education, health, wellness, and education-related law and policy.
